Uniform

We expect all of our pupils to wear the school uniform which is readily available from most local supermarkets. We also work with 2 external companies who provide embroidered uniform to the schools specification.

Please see the uniform policy below. All children should wear only uniform in line with the school policy.

Sunnymede Infant School Uniform Guidelines

At Sunnymede Infant School we work hard together to create a good sense of community amongst pupils, parents/carers and staff.  Having a school uniform helps to foster this sense of community, as well as signalling that school is a distinct place with clear standards and expectations.  It can also help parents overcome the pressure on youngsters to conform to the latest fashion trend!

These guidelines are provided so that parents, pupils and staff are clear on what is and is not acceptable for school wear.

White polo shirt

Royal Blue shorts

Dark trainers

Please note that trainers are not acceptable for days other than P.E. days either for girls or boys and shoes should be restricted to the colour and styles noted. Trainers may be brought to school to change into at lunchtime.

Please try to ensure that hair accessories are kept to a minimum and are either blue, black or white. We do recommend that girls with long hair wear it tied back to avoid accidents and head lice.

One downside of school uniform is that all clothes look the same and we build up a huge pile of lost property at the end of each term. Please ensure that all items of clothing, including shoes are clearly labelled with your child’s full name. Labelling may need to be renewed at regular intervals as names do tend to wear off in the wash!

In line with local authority and national guidelines pupils are not permitted to wear earrings during PE lessons. We request that ears are only pierced during the extended summer break and that earrings are removed by parents/carers on PE days.

Thank you for your cooperation.
